Nehemiah 7 / Joel 2 / 2 Thessalonians 1-2

Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come.

Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

The liars claim that this hasn't happened yet, as though the last 1800 years of apostasy is just an illusion, a state of imperfection that just needs to be excused. Paul predicts it here and other places, hints that he knew very well that the time of apostasy and darkness was coming, yet not many details other than it would be bad compared to the good he experienced. Who is the man of lawlessness? Not an actual man, but the force that defines man, a natural pull and condition of a creature guided by instinct like all of the wild animals. It is the ruler of this world, the serpent, the devil which is the same as the curse the humans were bound up with in Gen 3. The will and power of that animal, that old serpent called the devil, to make the humans follow it is what makes the humans unclean and unable to come near God, as per His wishes. "Everything that is called God and worshipped," according to Paul, was that life of God living in his heart, what was transforming him from evil to good, according to God his Father, over which that "Man of Lawlessness" would set itself up. When that happened, then the condition Paul and the Thessalonians were under would come to an end and the desolation would begin, as per Daniel's prophesy about the abomination, which would cause that state of desolation.

The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.

At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

At the time that this letter was being written to the Thessalonians, Paul and the others actually were in the process of "preaching this gospel of the kingdom" to all the nations that existed in their little world of their known civilization, pretty much as far as the kingdom of Rome stretched. Paul's missionary journeys aren't the beginning of some great christian world, but the beginning and the end within themselves, as per the words of the Son in Matthew 24.

Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Some significant things happened near the end of the first century: The generation Jesus referred to would in fact be passing away, the temple in Jerusalem would be destroyed, and Paul and the other missionaries were pretty much finished with the work they were doing, as per Jesus' prediction about the "preaching of this gospel of the kingdom" to all the acknowledged nations. Jesus says that after all those things happen, then the end will come. But the end of what? The end of the condition that hadn't yet even begun, of the life of God living in the bodies of a few humans as per the Joel prophecy of the spirit being poured out, which was a celebration in the spiritual world that the Son was finally with the Father, the two were united at last, so there indeed was much cause for celebration.

At that time the record of miraculous events seems to have died out. Some say that the miracles stopped but the church continued, and some say the miracles never stopped (they're still going on today just like then). We say that everything stopped—actually everything began to stop and then slowly faded away over the next few hundred years. That is when this "Man of Lawlessness" was setting itself up in the real temple, which was the body of humans in which the life of God was living. The "Man of Lawlessness" is the reason the miracles stopped. Just another term for the opposite of the life of God; it is the nature of man the wild animal, which when it set itself up in the real temple (the temple in jerusalem had already been destroyed), it would become the abomination which would coincide with the desolation of all that had been good in the first century. The celebratory "pouring out o the spirit" happened because the greatest moment in human history had just happened—the Son was finally with the Father who had patiently waited so long for him.

There's another instance of the abomination in action, and the reason for its significance here in the unification of the Father and the Son, which was the explanation for the celebratory pouring out of the spirit in the first century. If the jesus god had already eternally been living with the father god (before he turned himself into a human and came down to the earth) then his going back would have been no big deal, which is how it's viewed by those who adhere to the abominators' (whore of babylon's) lies. It's no big deal that such a hugely significant thing is lost, and just another point of confusion about an abstract, mythological, comic book type of good gods versus evil gods story, based on Roman and Greek mythology handed down by the mother whore (Roman politico-religious church) to all her prostitute daughters (all forms of christianity since), which doesn't make any sense. Try to comprehend anything about christianity that makes any sense and you will discover that it's one big quagmire of nonsensical abstract garbage that can't be figured out because it's all twisted up lies handed from century to century,t he bulk of it made up and maintained by humans who grabbed control of it because they could use it to their own advantage, which is what they continue to do to this day—garnering for themselves financial and egotistical kudos as they pretend to be the extension of the leaders of God's chosen people. However, the waywardly fraudulent nature of every movement that has called itself God's people since the first century shows that there isn't nor has there been a publicly exposed group of humans who has been a representation of the spiritual sons of God on the earth, among the human animals who rule it, since around the end of the first century. The writings of the NT sons versus everything that came after that point (after about 95 a.d., when John wrote the Revelation) shows that after that generation had passed away, the slide of the decline had already begun.

Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they did not belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

Here again, this antichrist John writes about isn't one man, but the force and power of everything the real Christ said and did. We know that the opposite of the nature of the Son of God, and the nature that must be planted and abundantly grow in all of God's sons is the nature of the wild animal which is afraid of God and runs away from Him when He comes. It must run away because it can't be in His presence, since the humans became dead in the very beginning.

I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.

This looming thing in the minds of the first century writers, which would be the end of everything good that was happening then as they were experiencing it, is termed both the Antichrist and the Man of Lawlessness, by two separate writers who were told that it was coming, so they were giving warning to their hearers by way of the letters they wrote to them. Anti the real Christ is already defined, so why is he also called the embodiment of lawlessness? The new covenant was the fulfillment of Jeremiah's prophesy (Ch 31), when the new version of God's people, chosen to represent the spiritual sons, would have His law just as former version of God's people had the law. However the Jews had His law written onto tablets of stone, but what was living in their hearts (the animal nature, the sinful nature, the innate instincts of their father the devil) was always much stronger and more powerful, which is proved by their constant rebelliousness to the way He wanted them to live—by His law, His way.

The new version of God's people had His law written on their hearts as per Jeremiah's prophesy (chapter 31), which meant at the same level where the wild animal nature lives. What was in them, the natural condition of all humans guided by instinct, was being smashed by this power from God that Jesus tells Nicodemus and the Samaritan woman about, so that it was able to battle that other thing, what is naturally in the humans because of the curse of Gen 3. The humans in the first century who had been chosen to be under that condition were a more refined version of a creature that was able to be pleasing to God in a whole new way, because He was able to be close to them since He lived in their bodies because the Son made them clean.

According to Paul's prediction, this man of lawlessness would set himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God. But what was God's temple, according to Paul? What was it according to Jesus?

Finally two came forward and declared, "This fellow said, `I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.' "

Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.

The temple was the place God lived. For the former people of God, the temple was just a magnificent tent, the original specs given to Moses about where God wanted to live—in the heart of the tent, in the middle of the camp of His people. God never wanted a temple, He just wanted the tent, because it was only a copy of the better condition, which the OT prophets kept declaring was coming. Paul, who had a high comprehension of the OT scriptures, knew that that time had come, and that he was under that condition, the fulfillment of the OT Tabernacle texts. His own body was the better tabernacle, and his heart was the most sacred place where God wanted to live. He understood that to be true for all the believers, that their individual bodies were each a little piece of the actual temple because God lived inside them, by His supernatural, spiritual power and nature, totally unnatural.

As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him—you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Daniel, Jesus, Paul, John and others warned about the coming of the great apostasy. That was when the whore, who would call herself the bride of Christ, would be born and rule for a long time, even up to right now. That's when the human animals, by the prompting of the nature in them to get for itself, to take, have, control and possess for themselves, took what was good—that condition of God living in and ruling the hearts of some humans—and turned it into what it is today and has been for so many centuries. Evil, based on the lies of those who were the opposite of the temple, who took the good (God living in His house) and replaced God with the animal so that He didn't live in the hearts of the humans, but the unclean animal (an abomination) did.

That was what John called the new Babylon, who would take God's new people and the truth of their condition (God living in their bodies, the temple) into the long captivity. Although she would use the same words as the apostles knew, the meaning of those words and ideas would be changed into something completely different. She would invent a totally new jesus god, and convince many to worship it. And God would even give it power to convince those that it was authentic—all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

If you want to believe the lie, then there'll be a delusion suited just for you so that you can continue with confidence to believe that lie—whatever it is. You want to believe in an evil satan, or an earthly institution that will stand up for you and defend you in front of the living God? Fine, there's a delusion that will validate that lie for you, so you can continue to believe it and not hear the truth, turn and be healed. You want to believe in the power of crystals? Great, there will be something to convince you that they have power. You want to think you have supernatural witch powers? Fine and dandy, there will be a power to convince you. You want to believe that you are a god, the beginning and the end of everything good? Real good then, here you go. The reasoning behind God being willing to give the humans over to whatever they want to believe is because He doesn't want them seeing and hearing, then turning so they become healed of their unclean nature (so they are all of a sudden able to come close to Him). He wants His own sons to do that, not every last animal that has ever wandered around on the planet. So whatever keeps them away is fine.

The disciples came to him and asked, "Why do you speak to the people in parables?"

He replied, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. This is why I speak to them in parables:

"Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:

" `You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.

For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.'

But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

The holy roman church was the original whore who rose up, and ruled for a thousand or more years. Then in 1500 or so, after she grew up, she started giving birth to prostitute daughters, as per the Revelation's description of the whore being the "mother of all prostitutes." The great whore has been birthing a bunch of little baby whores, who also claim to be the bride of the Christ, all spun off from the original lies of the great mother. There are all kinds of made up jesuses running around calling themselves authentic, and they believe it (because they're given over to whatever that lie says). They believe it because of the delusion that God sends them. They are deluded to think that what they have is real, and from the living God. They all look a lot like their mother except for some minor differences (Mary, rosary beads, priests, etc.) But the important concepts regarding the mythological good gods versus bad gods are all pretty much the same. The ideas came out of Roman mythological culture, which was heavily influenced by Greek mythological culture, regarding their gods who fought each other in the netherworld. Believing the whore's lies about these concepts would never allow a person to actually understand what the real Jesus did—what he came to accomplish, and the significance of that accomplishment, which was the Father's purpose until the appointed time of the end when that which is decreed is poured out on him.

For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

Try telling a christian who claims to be able to comprehend his doctrine that the real Jesus wasn't a god and it's like asking him if you can cut his hand off and slap him across the face with it. The lie is so sacred to them, they could never see the real Jesus, nor what he actually did for God, because they elevated their mythological jesus god (the real antichrist) to be equal with God as though they are doing him some kind of service in doing so—like it's honoring him by giving him a title of god instead of being fully human (although the only human animal to actually, fully be clean—the spotless Lamb of God). Telling them that the devil is not external to them, but is living inside them and making them unclean because it completely rules them, gets the same reaction. There is no ability to consider because all they can do is hold on to their sacred cows, out of fear of being led astray by the mythical devil who they think is external to their existence.

Being untainted by the animal (the devil), refusing to give in to its voice and be led by it, so that he could become the Lamb of God, is the central message of the life and purpose of Jesus. If you believe that he was a god before he came, and if you believe that the devil was something outside of him, you will never be able to understand what he actually did. The work that Jesus did for the Father is in no way arbitrary or subject to interpretation, because what he did is also what we the chosen sons of God must also do, assuming we are chosen to follow him and be his disciples, and not merely another one of the unclean animals who must be separated from Him.

If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.

The whore's lies creep into every area, even our own beliefs. Before God came, the lie was all we had available to us. And we rejected it because we knew it was a lie, but we couldn't fathom the truth because it wasn't available until the appointed time when it started to become revealed. The revelation of the Father's reality is so unlike what we can ever even begin to comprehend, that it has to come in tiny little increments, very much like a plant growing, in order to persuade. The nature of man, the "sinful nature" is one of those significant lies. That nature, or its domination over God's sons (the condition of the un chosen humans, bound by the curse), is what Jesus the firstborn Son, the only clean animal, killed on the cross, so it's important to know what the adversary is. If we think it's something that the whore can define for us, that's where we'll be in the darkness, and neither will we understand the true mission, purpose and work of God's anointed One.

I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head,
and you will strike his heel.

God was speaking to the serpent, the animal whose lie Adam had believed. God was speaking about His Son, who would "crush its head," or destroy its power in the chosen and called spiritual (unseen) sons. Because it was "put on" man, it became part of him, his consciousness if you will. It is what defines us before God—afraid, alone, constantly needing to survive, self-preserving and promoting, ruled by its appetites, etc. Do we see it destroyed in our lives? No, hardly. We are in fact all just a bunch of scared animals, running around pretending to "love" each other (because we are commanded to). We say we love our brothers because of our half-hearted niceties once or twice a week because we feel obliged to.

This understanding isn't just an inapplicable, abstract religious theory that I have to convince myself to believe even though it doesn't make any sense to what I know and observe about myself and the other humans. It is an observation I am making from considering my own self—my tendencies, abilities, irrational fears, etc., and how it seems to be ubiquitous amongst the humans, but they are always considerably reluctant to ever admit there is anything there. However, it has always seemed to me to be like a plague of sorts, a power I couldn't control that made me something I didn't want to be when certain other conditions presented themselves.

From birth I understand that I have learned how to be by developing methods of keeping myself safe from all kinds of outside threats—physical, emotional, mental, etc. I know what my tendencies are, I fully agree that they live in me and direct me on many levels. Now that I think about it, there seems to have actually been a force, a nature if you will, that was on me all my life, causing me to develop certain modes and abilities so that I could cope with my particular little world.

We call this thing I am describing the animal nature, the thing that Adam inherited when he trusted the animal instead of God. It is also called the sinful nature, the flesh, the devil. It is God's doing and purpose, because it keeps the humans away from Him; but it is His adversary because it works the same for His sons, because they are drawn from the humans. So it also works toward keeping them from knowing Him, because that's its purpose, what it does very efficiently. The devil is all about the natural; the devil is the natural creation whereas God is the spirit, unseen in the natural. The devil wanted Jesus to be natural, to conform to him the ruler of this world.

There's no immediate, automatic, magic wand that just sucks their nature out of the sons and then replaces it with the nature of a son of God. That's another error of the religious liars, and it's not an accident that it doesn't happen amongst them. They are animals just like all the other humans, not what they claim to be. The road to becoming a son of God is long and difficult, because the reality of losing our nature and getting another one is one of painful suffering, like dying and being raised from that death, only instead of three days it takes many years, and it's not pretty or simple. There's no validation in the natural, amongst the humans. There's no satisfaction of what our animal nature is screaming out at us to constantly indulge itself with, what it needs to feel content and satisfied.

It was the thing that did not rule Jesus although it tried (temptation account). It did not make him unclean because he didn't trust it as Adam had. Instead he did what God wanted Adam to do—he said to it, "I do not trust you." (Matt. 4) There was another force which also worked in Jesus, which also told him things about himself, the true nature of things, the world, what he was here to do, who he was, etc. That was the voice of the life of the unseen God, which spoke to him in the secret places of his heart because it lived in him, in those places. The Father's life is what gave him the ability to do miracles—God living in his body—because only what is or originates from God can do miracles. Jesus was the first human to be under the specific terms of the new covenant, having God's law written on his heart. He was the only human able to obey that law.

Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves.

But how did God actually live in him? That's the whole point of the spirit. It is merely a part of God's body, which is made up of things that are not known to man. We can't understand what a "part of God's body" actually means, because God isn't subject to the laws of physical science, so the concept of part of His body isn't the same in the spiritual reality as it is in the natural, which is all we know. In certain times in the history of the world, as recorded in the NT & OT, that life of God, or spirit of God, has broken into the physical world and caused things to happen which don't normally happen. The spirit is just how God who is spirit interacts with those whom He chooses to interact.

That is what happened with John and Jesus. The life of the Father lived in them and told them the way God wanted them to go, what they should do. It, being the voice of God because it was God, also told them the truth about who God was, and how to please Him, which they faithfully related to a small number of people with whom they had contact in their short lives. That spirit also busted out again, after the Lord finished the work given to him, in the physical world, around those few men who believed Jesus, as he believed the Father. That was the implementation of the new covenant, when the life of God lived in the bodies of some of the humans.

That is important. Jesus believed the voice inside him exclusively, and he shunned the animal's voice. His work required that level of pureness and cleanness, or he couldn't kill what made the sons unclean. Right to the very end, he had to keep choosing to believe the voice of the Father instead of that animal that kept tugging on him to try to get him to believe and trust it. But he never did, although it kept tempting him to, right to the very end. The fact that he did not ever believe it made him untarnished by its lies, and he was pure enough in that respect to crush its head.

Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him.  "Abba, Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will."

Making the destruction of that power available for his brothers, the other sons he was sent to save, is the work he accomplished on the cross. The fact that he didn't trust it is the work, because he made it possible for that animal nature to be destroyed in others. That is what happened after he ascended and became One with the Father; they became a new being. Some people were given the ability to deny that animal so that its power in them would become weaker and weaker, which is what Paul wrote about. Coinciding with that weakening of the animal in them was the ability to realize another nature, the nature that Adam had before he trusted the animal, and consequently died (he died to the nature he had, of his Father, and was made alive to the animal, his new father the serpent, dead to God).

Paul wrote many letters to groups of people which reflect the fact of the animal nature, which Jesus killed, actually was diminishing in him, and the new nature was growing in him. He also wrote about the struggle within him between the two natures. The old nature was what he had before God came; the new nature was the nature of the son, what Adam lost—a restoration of the life and relationship between son and Father. It was marked by love and trust, the knowledge that his Father wouldn't abandon him. It was starkly different than the nature of the animal, which is afraid and alone, and lives to protect itself because it knows it is alone with no one but itself to protect it.

We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body.

Signs and miracles are necessary relative to what we need to continue to do that work of believing, even though everything we see with our eyes tells us it isn't true. They are a gift that God gives the man chosen to do that work, because they provide hope and assurance that the secret life, which has been "put in" his heart, is actually true. When the man has hope in this manner, he is able to give the gift of faith back to God—a kind of fruit for Him to eat. That is what nourishes God and pleases Him. The end, though, is love which goes both ways—from the Father to the son, and from the son to the Father. This is the purpose and end of man.

The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.

But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the spirit and through belief in the truth. He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction.

Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill.
Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the LORD is coming.
It is close at hand--

In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the Desert of Judea and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: "As you go, preach this message: 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' "

"Even now," declares the LORD, "return to me with all your heart,
with fasting and weeping and mourning."

Rend your heart and not your garments.
Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.
